[01:27.760 --> 01:32.960]  He's one of the obsessive, tyrannical governors who wants to control everybody's life under
[01:32.960 --> 01:35.360]  the guise of stopping COVID-19.

[01:42.200 --> 01:46.720]  And as you can imagine, give her that description, he's keeping the mask order in place here

[01:51.000 --> 01:59.760]  However, here in my town, in Nye County, it's beginning to change, mask order or not.
[01:59.760 --> 02:05.320]  I'm going to give you a little bit of a background on why that's occurring, how it's occurring,

[02:10.140 --> 02:17.260]  About a month ago, Steve Sisolak said that he was going to turn over all enforcement
[02:17.260 --> 02:21.940]  of COVID-19 mitigation measures to the counties and cities.
[02:21.940 --> 02:26.400]  And that starting on May 1st, which as I'm sitting here recording this is tomorrow, starting
[02:26.400 --> 02:32.340]  on May 1st, enforcement would fall to the counties and cities.
[02:32.340 --> 02:37.820]  And I think the really important part about his announcement is the state would no longer
[02:37.820 --> 02:42.020]  be engaged in enforcement activities, the sole exception being with casinos.
[02:42.020 --> 02:47.180]  They're going to continue under the authority of the gaming commission concerning COVID-19.
[02:47.180 --> 02:54.700]  So unless you're a casino, as of May 1st, no more state enforcement.
[02:54.700 --> 02:57.540]  Enforcement will be handled by the counties or the cities.
[02:57.540 --> 02:59.020]  So here's the way this looks.

[03:00.900 --> 03:04.780]  Everybody in Nevada, you step out of your house, you have to wear a mask.

[03:07.100 --> 03:14.660]  So that's the mandate in Nevada as of this time, but as of May 1st, enforcement falls

[04:00.420 --> 04:03.980]  As I'm recording this, the Nye County Commissioners, again, Nye County is where I live, the Nye
[04:03.980 --> 04:09.380]  County Commissioners, there are five of them, they held a commission meeting.
[04:09.380 --> 04:17.700]  The public came and spoke and the commissioners voted five to zero to make a couple of changes.
[04:17.700 --> 04:23.660]  The two that are relevant, I think, to this conversation are that as of May 1st, now this
[04:23.660 --> 04:25.260]  was a non-binding resolution.
[04:25.260 --> 04:26.260]  This is an important part.
[04:26.380 --> 04:30.220]  This is not a law because the county cannot pass a law that's in conflict with the governor's
[04:30.220 --> 04:31.660]  emergency power mandate.
[04:31.660 --> 04:39.820]  So this is a resolution, a non-binding resolution and it said, the county of Nye advises people
[04:39.820 --> 04:46.780]  to wear masks, but it should not be forced upon them by law.
[04:46.780 --> 04:52.580]  The county of Nye advises people to social distance, but it should not be enforced upon
[04:52.580 --> 04:54.060]  them by law.

[04:55.780 --> 04:59.380]  So as of May 1st, we have enforcement falling to the counties and this particular county
