[00:16.000 --> 00:28.000]  Over the years, I've done a number of presentations in which I have provided the evidence, the science, that masks don't work.

[00:54.000 --> 01:00.000]  John W. Ayers is a Harvard-trained scientist with a doctorate degree in epidemiology.
[01:00.000 --> 01:08.000]  He is the vice chief of innovation in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Global Public Health.
[01:08.000 --> 01:17.000]  He's an associate professor in the Department of Medicine and affiliate scientist in the Qualcomm Institute at UC San Diego.
[01:17.000 --> 01:27.000]  Dr. Ayers has a few things to say about mask wearing, and he said those things in a July 29, 2022 article in the San Diego Union Tribune.
[01:27.000 --> 01:34.000]  I'm not going to share with you the entire article, but I do want to share with you the things he said, the key points that he made in that article.
[01:35.000 --> 01:47.000]  Pre-pandemic, masking was discouraged by experts because the evidence then was negative on the protective effects of masking for the wearer.
[01:47.000 --> 02:03.000]  For instance, a randomized study of health care providers who wore cloth masks for four weeks in 14 hospitals in Hanoi, Vietnam during 2011 found they experienced higher rates of respiratory illness
[02:03.000 --> 02:13.000]  and laboratory-confirmed viral infection, an influenza-like illness than controls, who followed the usual practices while working.
[02:13.000 --> 02:26.000]  Guidance by the World Health Organization in January 2020 stated that, quote, cloth masks are not recommended under any circumstance, close quote.
[02:26.000 --> 02:38.000]  Dr. Ayers continues, misunderstandings about the quality of evidence have, I'm sorry, you know, this quality of evidence thing, I have hammered on that and hammered on that and hammered on that
[02:38.000 --> 02:47.000]  because the media will throw up the worst, the least scientific crap you could ever want. They'll throw it up there and they'll tell you that this is science.
[02:47.000 --> 02:58.000]  So again, I'm sorry for the interruption. This is Dr. Ayers again, misunderstandings about the quality of evidence have resulted in a substantial amount of misinformation and harm.
[02:58.000 --> 03:04.000]  Randomized controlled trials are the evidentiary gold standard.
[03:04.000 --> 03:17.000]  14 of 16 trials performed before the pandemic found the recommendation to wear a mask did not significantly reduce infection rates compared to the unmasked controls.
[03:18.000 --> 03:30.000]  Two trials on community masking have been performed during the pandemic. A trial in Denmark called Denmask showed the recommendation to wear surgical masks did not reduce infections.
[03:30.000 --> 03:38.000]  A trial in Bangladesh showed reusable cloth masks did not reduce infections, close quote.
[03:38.000 --> 03:45.000]  As you can see, there is no science that states that masks work and we're going to get into that more here in just a moment.
[03:45.000 --> 03:56.000]  But I want to talk about the fact that one of the areas where these shall I be kind and simply say overzealous public officials are reinstituting mask mandate is in the schools.
[03:56.000 --> 04:01.000]  Although the CDC has stopped providing this kind of data back in February of 2022.
[04:01.000 --> 04:07.000]  At that time, they said that 75 percent of children had already been infected with SARS-CoV-2.
[04:07.000 --> 04:12.000]  That was February. Since February, we've had the Omicron BA4 and BA5 waves.
[04:12.000 --> 04:19.000]  So I think it is realistic to say that number is almost certainly in the very high 90 percentile.
[04:19.000 --> 04:27.000]  So if we pick a number out of the hat and say that 96 percent of school aged children have already been infected with SARS-CoV-2,
[04:27.000 --> 04:33.000]  then what is the benefit of asking people who already have prior infection immunity to wear masks?
[04:33.000 --> 04:39.000]  Everyone. 96 percent. That's damn close to everyone. They already have the antibodies. They've already been infected.
[04:39.000 --> 04:43.000]  They're not going to get it again. And if they did happen to get it again, it would be incredibly mild.
[04:43.000 --> 04:47.000]  So we're having children wear masks again. Why?
[04:47.000 --> 04:51.000]  The answer to that question is that these government bodies, these school districts,
[04:51.000 --> 04:58.000]  are using outdated CDC metrics for when to initiate a mask mandate.
[04:58.000 --> 05:01.000]  Now, of course, we know that masks don't work, so there's no time that you want to initiate a mask mandate.
[05:01.000 --> 05:09.000]  But nevertheless, the CDC has a now seriously outdated metric that pertains to the number of hospitalizations.
[05:09.000 --> 05:13.000]  When your hospitalizations for SARS-CoV-2 reach a certain level,
[05:13.000 --> 05:17.000]  then this CDC recommendation kicks in that everybody wear masks.
[05:17.000 --> 05:26.000]  However, when I say outdated, that metric was established before hospitals were distinguishing
[05:26.000 --> 05:31.000]  between incidental infections and hospitalizations for SARS-CoV-2.
[05:31.000 --> 05:35.000]  In other words, what that means is there are people who are sick because they have COVID-19,
[05:35.000 --> 05:41.000]  and they go to the hospital because they've got COVID-19. That is the reason they're at the hospital.
[05:41.000 --> 05:46.000]  By contrast, an incidental infection is the person doesn't even know they're infected.
[05:46.000 --> 05:50.000]  They go there because they have a broken arm, or they stubbed their toe, or they're delivering a baby.
[05:50.000 --> 05:54.000]  And when they show up, they get tested before the hospital will intake them.
[05:54.000 --> 05:59.000]  And they come up positive. Back when CDC created this metric,
[05:59.000 --> 06:03.000]  there was no distinguishing between people who were in the hospital because of COVID-19
[06:03.000 --> 06:07.000]  and people who were in the hospital and incidentally had COVID-19.
[06:08.000 --> 06:12.000]  Now we keep that data, but CDC isn't making that available.
[06:12.000 --> 06:20.000]  And CDC has not bothered to correct its ancient, outdated, no longer relevant, no longer applicable metrics,
[06:20.000 --> 06:25.000]  which the school districts, in their ignorance, continue to follow.
[06:25.000 --> 06:31.000]  So we've covered the science briefly, and we've covered the flawed establishment dogma
[06:31.000 --> 06:35.000]  that places like school districts are still adhering to.
[06:35.000 --> 06:40.000]  But is there another more practical way that you can tell whether or not masks work?
[06:40.000 --> 06:48.000]  Sure. It's the result or the outcome of wearing masks or not wearing masks that you can see with your own two eyes.
[06:48.000 --> 06:59.000]  During 2020, starting in about March of 2020, I did quite a number of presentations on masks.
[06:59.000 --> 07:04.000]  And a lot of what I did is I compared what was going on with SARS-CoV-2, the infections in various states and locales
[07:04.000 --> 07:07.000]  and when they had mask mandates and when they dropped the mask mandates.
[07:07.000 --> 07:13.000]  And it clearly showed that masks made absolutely zero difference.
[07:13.000 --> 07:17.000]  The point being, when the numbers were going up or when the numbers were going down,
[07:17.000 --> 07:21.000]  when they put a mask mandate in place or they took a mask mandate away, nothing changed, nothing.
[07:21.000 --> 07:24.000]  Now, I said I had done quite a few videos.
[07:24.000 --> 07:32.000]  Oh, I'm going to guess I did probably close to 20 videos discussing in whole or in part the mask issue.
[07:32.000 --> 07:35.000]  Now, you don't need to watch all those and I'm sure you don't want to.
[07:35.000 --> 07:39.000]  But I'm going to put a link to just one of those down in the notes and you'll see for yourself.
[07:39.000 --> 07:42.000]  Now, back to a little bit more about what the science says.
[07:42.000 --> 07:52.000]  My primary point in a number of those videos that masks don't work is that research from 1920,
[07:52.000 --> 07:57.000]  when the very first study was done concerning the wearing of masks during a viral outbreak,
[07:57.000 --> 08:04.000]  in fact, it was another pandemic, it was the Spanish flu of 1918 and towards the end of 1920,
[08:04.000 --> 08:12.000]  a very talented doctor in California decided that he wanted to know why it appeared to him that masks don't work.
[08:12.000 --> 08:15.000]  So he actually went about formulating.
[08:15.000 --> 08:18.000]  For 1920, I was quite impressed.
[08:18.000 --> 08:23.000]  He formulated a number of different experiments that he could run to determine whether masks work.
[08:23.000 --> 08:26.000]  And that was the very first research ever done on mask wearing.
[08:26.000 --> 08:32.000]  And the conclusion was masks don't slow or halt the spread of a virus.
[08:32.000 --> 08:34.000]  That was 1920.
[08:34.000 --> 08:37.000]  So moving forward, I think this is the really important part.
[08:37.000 --> 08:50.000]  From 1920 through 2021, not a single study concerning mask wearing had ever concluded
[08:50.000 --> 08:54.000]  that wearing a mask slows or halts the spread of a virus.
[08:54.000 --> 08:59.000]  Not one in more than 100 years.
[08:59.000 --> 09:09.000]  And that only changed in early 2021 when the CDC on its website posted a horribly flawed...
[09:09.000 --> 09:11.000]  I'm laughing because it was so flawed.
[09:11.000 --> 09:15.000]  To call it a study is to do violence to the word study.
[09:15.000 --> 09:20.000]  They posted this study, only had a handful of participants.
[09:20.000 --> 09:22.000]  It was very brief in duration.
[09:23.000 --> 09:29.000]  And it had none of the kind of controls that you would have in a study to actually make the conclusion viable.
[09:29.000 --> 09:33.000]  And that study of course headlined, proof that masks work.
[09:33.000 --> 09:40.000]  Now, the science community has had a number of different opinions from early 2020 through now
[09:40.000 --> 09:44.000]  concerning various aspects of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 and the vaccines and so forth.
[09:44.000 --> 09:51.000]  However, every single researcher, every single scientist, every single epidemiologist
[09:51.000 --> 10:00.000]  that looked at that CDC study said it is so flawed, so horribly flawed that the conclusions are utterly meaningless.
[10:00.000 --> 10:06.000]  And that statement that the conclusions are meaningless isn't true.
[10:06.000 --> 10:12.000]  It was very meaningful because it was intended as propaganda.
[10:12.000 --> 10:22.000]  The headline from CDC's fake science propaganda piece was spread far and wide across hundreds of different media outlets
[10:22.000 --> 10:26.000]  that cumulatively have hundreds of millions of followers.
[10:26.000 --> 10:32.000]  And they all saw the headline, CDC study shows masks work.
[10:32.000 --> 10:36.000]  So it wasn't meaningless at all.
[10:36.000 --> 10:47.000]  It was an incredibly successful propaganda piece, which was and is part of a much larger disinformation campaign
[10:47.000 --> 10:53.000]  run by the establishment and headed up by the United States government and supported by companies such as Facebook and Twitter
[10:53.000 --> 11:00.000]  who support the government's disinformation campaign by removing factual information.
[11:00.000 --> 11:06.000]  So the only information left is this kind of fake study put forth by the CDC as propaganda,
[11:06.000 --> 11:13.000]  which was one small element of a much larger disinformation campaign, which is still going on this very day.
[11:13.000 --> 11:17.000]  And when I talk about enterprises such as Facebook and Twitter, here's how this works.
[11:17.000 --> 11:23.000]  Once CDC came out and said, we have a study showing masks work,
[11:23.000 --> 11:27.000]  companies like Facebook and Twitter's and other censorship platforms,
[11:27.000 --> 11:33.000]  they did not care that every scientist who looked at that study laughed at it and said the conclusion was meaningless
[11:33.000 --> 11:34.000]  because the study was so flawed.
[11:34.000 --> 11:37.000]  Companies like Facebook and Twitter did not care.
[11:37.000 --> 11:44.000]  They then were able to adopt the position that the official statement of the CDC is masks work.
[11:44.000 --> 11:55.000]  So if you say masks don't work, even if you have a truckload of data to show the CDC was wrong and that masks do not work,
[11:55.000 --> 12:00.000]  if you put it on your profile on Facebook or you put it on your account on Twitter that masks don't work,
[12:00.000 --> 12:07.000]  the very fact that CDC contrived a fake study that said masks work and published it on its website,
[12:07.000 --> 12:12.000]  then if you say the alternative, if you say the truth, if you say masks don't work,
[12:12.000 --> 12:16.000]  then you can be suspended or you can have your account permanently removed.
[12:16.000 --> 12:18.000]  Ask me how I know that.
[12:19.000 --> 12:27.000]  One of the primary reasons that YouTube deplatform my channel was because of all those videos saying masks don't work,
[12:27.000 --> 12:32.000]  which contradicted the official statement of the CDC.
[12:32.000 --> 12:34.000]  So I had to go.
[12:34.000 --> 12:45.000]  The takeaway here is that the narrative that masks work has always been part of a government disinformation campaign.
[12:45.000 --> 12:53.000]  Basically, the government wanted to know how stupid and obedient the American people would be.
[12:53.000 --> 12:55.000]  Now the government knows.
[12:55.000 --> 13:02.000]  Of course, this is hardly the only disinformation campaign that the United States government, the broader establishment, have run.
[13:02.000 --> 13:06.000]  I've talked about this many times, the fraud of the income tax.
[13:06.000 --> 13:09.000]  I want to be very clear, the income tax is not a fraud.
[13:09.000 --> 13:11.000]  The income tax is a real thing.
[13:11.000 --> 13:20.000]  The fraudulent part, the scam is that by arguably the most successful disinformation campaign the United States government has ever run and is continuing to run,
[13:20.000 --> 13:26.000]  I'm going to go out on a limb here and say like 98% of the public actually believes that the income tax has been imposed on them.
[13:26.000 --> 13:30.000]  In other words, they get up in the morning, they have a cup of coffee, they get the kids off to school, they go to work and they earn some money.
[13:30.000 --> 13:32.000]  They owe some to the government.
[13:32.000 --> 13:36.000]  The government has convinced the American people of that and it's utter and complete bunk.
[13:36.000 --> 13:38.000]  It's total nonsense.
